Grant's whisky price Malaysia: what you will pay
The table shows the Grant's whisky we found at Malaysian retailers. "Typical" is the shelf price at a mainstream shop, here whisky.my. "Lowest seen" is the cheapest online discounter listing. However, that discount bottle was a 1L size, so it is not a like-for-like match.
| Expression | Size | ABV | Typical price | Lowest seen* | Seen at |

Typical price is the range at mainstream Malaysian retailers for a standard 70cl or 75cl bottle, checked in October 2026. *Lowest seen is the cheapest online discounter listing. It may be a different bottle size or parallel-import stock. Prices change often, so confirm with the retailer before you buy.
Only one mainstream shop listed Grant's, so stock can be patchy. In short, the Grant's whisky price in Malaysia is fair, but you may need to look around to find a bottle.
A short history of Grant's
William Grant opened his first distillery in 1887, with help from his seven sons and two daughters. That was Glenfiddich, in Speyside, and its first spirit ran on Christmas Day that year. Grant's calls itself "Scotland's oldest continuously family-run blended whisky makers". The firm is still in family hands today.
The famous triangular bottle came much later. According to Grant's, the designer Hans Schleger created it in 1957. The three sides make it easy to spot on a crowded shelf. Today the same family firm also owns Monkey Shoulder, Glenfiddich and Balvenie.
Girvan: the grain behind the blend
A blend needs grain whisky as well as malt. So in 1963 the family built its own grain distillery at Girvan, on the Ayrshire coast. Grant's says a team of about 400 locals built it in just nine months. Girvan's light grain spirit gives Grant's its soft, easy body. Meanwhile, malt whiskies add fruit and depth. Grant's Triple Wood
Triple Wood is the new name for Grant's Family Reserve. As the name says, the whisky matures in three types of oak. Each one adds something different, according to Grant's:
- Virgin oak adds a robust spice.
- American oak adds smooth vanilla.
- Refill bourbon casks add brown sugar sweetness.
The result is a sweet, fruity blend with a light smoky edge. It is easy to drink, so it suits both new drinkers and mixers. Grant's also makes Triple Wood 8 and 12, but we did not find them at Malaysian shops.
Clean, with ripe pear and summer fruits.
Vanilla sweetness with malt and light flowers.
Long and sweet, with a hint of smoke.
How Grant's compares with other budget blends
Grant's sits in a busy group of entry blends. Here is how the Grant's whisky price in Malaysia stacks up against its rivals at mainstream shops:
- Famous Grouse Finest: RM153–RM190
- Teacher's Highland Cream: RM170
- Johnnie Walker Red Label: RM183–RM213
- Dewar's White Label: RM188–RM230
- Ballantine's Finest: RM193–RM209
- Grant's Triple Wood: RM209
So Grant's sits at the upper end of the group, though the gaps are small. Taste matters more than a few ringgit here. Grant's is sweeter and fruitier than Teacher's, which has more smoke. For more cheap options, see our list of whisky under RM200.
